MEDITATION – CAN IT STOP GLOBAL WARMING ?

Peace has been now recognized as an actual science by today’s humans. Some years  back, an experiment was carried out in a trial in Washington DC in which they carried out mass meditation and found a significant decrease in the number of rapes and homicides. Participants’ meditated in the state of peace and the result was as amazing as 23% decrease in the crime rate during the final week of trial. The give trial was conducted among a panel of qualified experts.

This was just a small example. Several similar results were obtained from different experiments on mass meditation. Study shows a tremendous decline in the crime rate and the likelihood of the person to get indulged in any such criminal activities. In 2006 many eminent figures met in Düsseldorf to discuss the problems of world major problems like global warming, terrorism, war etc and use integrated consciousness through meditation as a solution.

They stated that all the human beings are inter connected through their consciousness and radiate energy through there thoughts. It was a startling conclusion that human thought is magnified exponentially when meditation is carried out in mass and harmony. The conference concluded by stating that we can fulfill ourselves by fulfilling others. The unification of the humanity can only be done by love for one another.

Coincidently whatever these scientists concluded was already mentioned in the book climate change. So, it is better that we realize the power of human mind as soon as possible. The sooner we realize better for us and we might help in keeping the earth stabilized with the power of human mind and controlling with the help of meditation. So, we might someday help in controlling global warming of the earth through the power of meditation.

History of Meditation

The history of meditation is ages old which is been recorded even thousand years before the bible itself. But no accurate data exists about where and when it was originated.

Dating back to 500 B.C, The Buddha has been recognized as people’s icon for the history of meditation. The son Siddhartha of a famous king stepped outside the luxuries of the palace after living a real luxurious life in his childhood. He realized that life is full of sorrow and suffering and this materialistic pleasure have no meaning. He decided to gave all those and pursue a spiritual goals.  He discovered that to avoid sorrow you need not end life but choose something in between luxury and asceticism. At the age of 30 years, he found enlightenment or Nirvana. It is a heightened level of awareness which one reaches through meditation. He spent his rest of the life spreading words and teaching people about meditation.

Teaching of the Buddha is wide spread and it spread through the entire eastern world in various forms. Since there are no formal set of Guidelines, the adoption of Buddha teaching has diverse forms in different areas and have taken various shapes over the last 400 years. Thousands of years have passed before the western world could know about the history and principles of meditation.

There are many researchers who have spent many years studying and learning about the history of meditation. They came to know that it is a practice which is documented by Indian people in the name Tantra. Ancient theories say meditation as the varying state of consciousness achieved by ancestral people.

Modern day’s meditation has also many forms. Each variation as his its own values and is effective in a different way for the person who follow it. It helps them to serve a balance between emotional and physical energies of body and mind. The mediation is a great tool that can help people sleep, eliminate stress and anxiety and overcome depression. For many it’s a habit that keeps them calm and composure in spite of the daily life pressures.

It does not really matter how far back the history of meditation extends , this has been one of the most wide spread art throughout the world.  There are many people who seek inner peace by going through meditation.
